A Florida Keys wedding packed with turquoise blue waterfront views, pinky peach details, and plenty of personality.
If you know me, you know I love a Florida Keys waterfront wedding, and this personality-packed day did not disappoint. Lauren and Nick’s Playa Largo wedding was the perfect mix of tropical Florida Keys scenery, bright details, and some serious attitude (a Playa Largo wedding photographer’s dream!)
To be fair, Playa Largo is a destination in and of itself. There are beautiful opportunities for overhead shots, sugar sand, crystal clear water for texture, and plenty of places to sneak away for portraits. You get the palms, water, tropical landscaping, and resort setting all in one place, which gives us so much variety without needing to leave the property.

A Playful Wedding Morning at Playa Largo Resort
Any bride who asks for champagne photos in the bathtub with heart-shaped sunglasses is a bride for me.
Photographing the getting-ready suites is such a fun way to get everyone comfortable with the camera for the day, and I love having the chance to let personalities shine through while preserving some of those pre-wedding jitters and anticipation!

Their Waterfront Ceremony in the Florida Keys
As a destination wedding photographer, I love how Playa Largo’s classically Keysey backdrop makes for stunning overhead composition, with scrubby mangroves, palm trees, and a grassy green lawn adding dimension and variety to the sandy tones and rows of white chairs.
Once guests started arriving, the focus shifted to all of those little moments happening around the ceremony: bridesmaids lined up with peonies in hand, Lauren and Nick framed above a sea of parasols as they exchanged vows, and, of course, their first walk back down the aisle together.

Wedding Portraits Around Playa Largo
As a Playa Largo wedding photographer, one of my favorite things about the property is how easy it is to sneak away for portraits without leaving the resort. While guests gathered around those bright cocktail tables, Lauren, Nick, and I took a moment alone to explore the property and create their couple portraits.
When I photograph couples, I’ll give direction when it helps, but I never want every photograph to feel overly posed. Walking, movement, conversation, and a little space to be together create some of my favorite images.

Their Key Largo Wedding Reception
The reception design by Jen Blossoms Designs brought the same bright and playful energy from the beach to the lawn, with the cutest checkered dance floor bringing everyone together in the space.
Once the party starts, my job becomes less about directing and more about watching: entrances, conversations, dancing, reactions, all of the small interactions happening around the room, and of course finding the perfect late-night flat lay.
